What is a Facilities Management Appenticeship?

Facilties Management Apprentices support Facilities Managers to a building operate effectively, efficiently and safely. Activities include anything from managing the maintenance of the heating or air conditioning systems to managing the catering, cleaning, reception and the security of a building. At the same time the Apprentice will receive on and off the job training from Active Synergy so your organisation has piece of mind that your staff are receiving appropriate training and mentoring.

What training does the Apprentice receive?

Level 2 Certificate in Facilities Services
This qualification is achieved through on the job and accredits what the apprentice does in their day to day role.

Level 2 Certificate in Facilities Services Principles
This qualification is achieved through off the job training. The training plan will be developed with the employer and may include classroom delivery, webinars and distance learning.

Employee rights and responsibilities
Two options for apprentices to choose to gain the ERR element of this framework. The options are either a checklist or workbook. This gives apprentices the flexibility to complete the ERR in a way that is most appropriate to them.

Functional Skills
Functional Skills can include English, Maths and ICT. These qualifications are delivered throughout the apprenticeship if required by the learner.

What is the cost to an organisation?

The only cost to the employer is the wages of the apprentice. An apprentice must be paid a minimum of £2.65 per hour and must be employed a minimum of 30 hours per week.

There are currently government grants available of £1,500 for employers that have not employed an apprentice is the last 12 months.
